another one bites it......

from sleater-kinney.com

After eleven years as a band, Sleater-Kinney have decided to go on indefinite hiatus. The upcoming summer shows will be our last. As of now, there are no plans for future tours or recordings.

We feel lucky to have had the support of many wonderful people over the years. We want to thank everyone who has worked with us, written kind words about us, performed with us, and inspired us.

But mostly we want to extend our gratitude to our amazing fans. You have been a part of our story from the beginning. We could not have made our music without your enthusiasm, passion, and loyalty. It is you who have made the entire journey worthwhile.

With love and thanks,
Sleater-Kinney

SMOOSH

so i caught SMOOSH and EELS at the vogue in indianapolis friday night.....parked myself right at the stage in anticipation of a killer RAWK SHOW......and all in all, much rawking was had by all......

but as the cuties of SMOOSH played their opening set, i was overcome by this feeling of CREEPY OLD GUY......i'm 36, shaved head, arms covered with tattoos, standing at the stage watching these 12 and 14 year old girls crank out catchy pop tunes......

thankfully, i'm NOT that creepy old guy, drooling at the sight of young flesh and emerging breasts......shit, i was just stoked to see these girls bash their instruments and have a good time on stage.......but for that brief moment, i was suddenly worried about what the roadies were thinking.....or what the rest of the crowd was thinking.......about this "old dude" at the front of the stage.......

obviously i need to get over it.
i know i was there for the right reasons and everyone else can get fucked.

cheers.

the fifth beatle

R.I.P. Billy Preston.

requiem for a dream

i watched this movie again over the weekend.
fucking brilliant!
depressing, twisted, mind-numbing, but still fucking brilliant!

happy june, by the way.
may has fucking evaporated and we're already head-first into june and something called "summer".

warm temps, cold women.......sounds like the rest of my summers.

i'm pretty sure i won't be doing lollapalooza this year.......i've left it too long to secure a hotel room and tickets.......perhaps i could do a 1-day trip depending on the schedule of bands on any particular day......

what i am doing is the mosh pit at a nine inch nails concert July 4th weekend.......i'm quite aware that i'm too old for that shit, but Trent has hinted that this is the last big tour for quite a while, and they're a well-oiled machine right now, so i'm fucking doing it......i'm only on this planet once, so a boot in the face by some trustfund fucker should not phase me.

and finally, i'd like to reaffirm my utmost desire and lust for nearly all suicidegirls.
